Thomas Mayr wins his first final at Austrian nationals 1:8 Offroad

Last weekend saw second leg for the Autrian championship 1:8 Offroad at A-Team Graz race track! First leg 2 weeks before could not be run, because of a overflooded race track at MARC Exklusiv in Kirschschlag!

Also last weekend the wheater situation was changing several times (sunshine, rain, ...) - but good track preparation (saw dust, ...) make the event possible!

After qualifying we had following TOP-3 result:
1. Hupo Honigl DURANGO/LRP/PROLINE
2. Martin Karner KYOSHO/ORION/AKA
3. Christian Payer MUGEN/NOVAROSSI/PROLINE

In the 45 minutes final Thomas Mayr managed already in lap 2 to get into the lead. Hupo Honigl (Austrian champion 2009) already out after 5 laps with a clutch problem - Martin Karner (Austrian champion 2008) out after 41 laps with a defective plug. So Thomas Mayer (B-Vice European champion 2009) won his first race for the Austrian nationals without having any problems in his short and very succesful carrer with nearly one lap before Peter Pinisch and Werner Spanbruckner:
1. Thomas Mayr MUGEN/NOVAROSSI/PROLINE
2. Peter Pinisch ASSOCIATED/NOSRAM/PROLINE
3. Werner Spanbruckner MUGEN/?/PROLINE

Dominic Bauer MUGEN/NOVAROSSI/PROLINE (overall 5th) has become best youth driver - another new talented driver after Thomas Mayr, who has now become to old this season to be a youth driver!
